Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Ocean Software. It was one of those licensed games that tried to do something a little different from the first one, moving away from the slower exploration and into more straightforward action. You could tell they were aiming for something that felt faster and more intense, fitting right in with the kinds of side-scrollers that were popular at the time.

You play as either Dr. Alan Grant or a mercenary named Tippett, depending on which mode you pick, and your goal is to stop dinosaurs from escaping the island and to deal with a rival corporation's forces. The game is a run and gun platformer where you move screen by screen, clearing enemies and sometimes hunting for keycards to unlock doors. You switch between different weapons, like a standard rifle and a cattle prod that stuns smaller dinosaurs, and you have to manage your ammo and health carefully. It's a tough game with some frustrating enemy placements and level designs that can feel a bit maze-like. Playing it feels like a constant scramble for survival, where every corner could hide a raptor or a soldier ready to take you down.
