Play Kablooey Online
You're a walking bomb dispenser—drop explosives to clear paths, then bolt before they blow you up too. That cute SNES art style hides some brutal "oh no I trapped myself" moments.

Kablooey came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by HAL Laboratory. It was one of those early puzzle games on the system that didn't get a ton of attention but had a really distinct feel. You'd see it in rental stores or maybe a friend's collection, something simple looking but with a surprising amount of thought behind it.
You control a little robot that lays bombs to break through walls and clear obstacles, screen by screen. Your goal is to find and rescue scientists trapped in each stage. The main mechanics involve placing bombs with careful timing, using the blast to destroy blocks or enemies, and then quickly moving out of the explosion radius. It's easy to misplace a bomb and corner yourself, which makes the pacing tense. The game gets difficult fast, demanding precision and forward planning. Playing it feels like a constant, nervous calculation between action and consequence.
