Dezaemon is one of those weird, awesome SNES games that flew under the radar outside Japan. At first glance, it's just another shoot 'em up—but the real magic kicks in when you dive into the level editor. You can tweak everything: enemy patterns, bullet speeds, even the way your ship handles. Messed around for hours making impossible bullet-hell stages just to see if my friends could beat them.

The default shooter it comes with feels a bit basic, but that’s not the point. Half the fun is digging into the tools and realizing how much control you actually have. Spent way too much time perfecting dumb enemy formations that spiral toward the player in increasingly stupid ways. If you’ve ever wanted to build your own Gradius or R-Type knockoff (or just torture your buddies with unfair levels), this is your jam.

Fair warning: the menu translations are rough in spots, but you’ll figure it out after some tinkering.
