Play Kao the Kangaroo Online
Punch enemies with boxing gloves, snowboard down slopes, and drop flags to save progress—just a kangaroo trying to bounce his way home. The tail spin attack feels great when you nail it.

Kao the Kangaroo came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Tate Interactive. It was part of that wave of early 3D platformers making the jump to handheld, trying to capture some of that exploratory energy in a smaller package. You don't see many boxing kangaroos as protagonists, so it stood out on a system filling up with mascots.
You control Kao, a young kangaroo trying to rescue his kidnapped sister from a hunter. The main goal is to fight through a series of themed worlds, each broken into individual levels. Your primary moves are a punch with your boxing gloves and a tail spin attack that works well for hitting multiple enemies or breaking objects. You also collect golden coins and letters spelling K-A-O to unlock later areas. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that keep you alert. It feels like a straightforward, energetic romp where you're always bouncing toward the next objective.
