Play Kick Boxing Online
Punch and kick your way through stiff animations and sluggish movement—landing a pixel-perfect uppercut feels oddly rewarding despite the jank. Those crunchy sound effects and repetitive backgrounds grow on you like a weird Game Boy charm.

Kick Boxing came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Imagineering and published by Acclaim. It was one of the many straightforward fighting games that tried to find a place on the handheld, offering a simple brawler experience without much fanfare. You pick a fighter and work your way through a series of opponents, screen by screen, in a standard tournament structure.
You control a boxer who moves left and right, throwing jabs, hooks, and kicks to wear down the opponent's health bar. The main goal is to defeat each rival and become the champion. Signature mechanics include blocking high and low attacks, and building up a special meter that lets you unleash a more powerful strike when it's full. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty can feel uneven, with some opponents reading your inputs a little too well. It feels like a grind, but there's a certain satisfaction in timing a knockout blow just right.
