I picked up Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Destiny (J) on Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a time when handhelds were really hitting their stride with solid mecha action. Bandai published it, and it fit right in with other Gundam titles of that era, offering a portable take on the Seed Destiny storyline. It wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just deliver some straightforward mobile suit combat you could take anywhere.

You control a Gundam pilot, moving through mission-based stages and engaging in real-time battles against enemy mobile suits and ships. Your main goal is to complete objectives, which often involve destroying specific targets or surviving waves of foes. The combat mixes beam rifle shots with close-range sword slashes, and you need to manage your energy gauge to pull off special attacks or boosts. The pacing is fairly brisk, though some missions can get tough if you rush in without a plan. It feels satisfying to land a well-timed strike and watch an enemy unit explode into pieces.
