Game Overview

Kong: King of Atlantis is a 2005 Game Boy Advance release from independent developer Skyworks Interactive. It arrived late in the system's life, a time when smaller, experimental titles could still find an audience. The game takes the familiar King Kong license and drops him into a completely unexpected underwater setting.

You control Kong himself, navigating a series of side-scrolling levels. Your main goal is to rescue your companion, Ann Darrow, from the clutches of the Atlanteans. The gameplay revolves around simple brawling; you punch fish-men, throw pirates into hazards, and occasionally use your strength to smash through barriers or wreck enemy ships. The pacing is deliberate, almost sluggish, which fits the character but can make the action feel heavy. It feels like a short, messy brawl, and there's a strange satisfaction in the sheer absurdity of it all.
