Kong: King of Atlantis came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Skyworks Technologies and published by Majesco. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers that filled the GBA library, often based on cartoons or comics, and this one drew from the Kong: The Animated Series. The hardware was well suited for colorful, side scrolling action, and this game tried to make the most of it.
You control Kong, a powerful gorilla with cybernetic implants, moving through levels screen by screen. Your main goal is to stop an ancient evil from taking over Atlantis, which involves a lot of jumping across gaps, climbing vines, and using your strength to smash enemies and obstacles. Two key mechanics are your ability to swing on certain points with a chain and activating switches to change the environment, opening new paths. The pacing is fairly brisk, though some sections can be tricky with precise platforming required. It feels straightforward and energetic, like a solid afternoon distraction with a familiar character.
