Play Kyuukyoku Tiger (Japan) Online
Dodge swarms of bullets in a tiny helicopter, grabbing power-ups just to survive another 30 seconds—that soundtrack makes the chaos feel weirdly good.

Kyuukyoku Tiger came out on the NES in 1990, published by Taito. It was part of that wave of arcade shooters that made their way to home consoles, offering a tough, straightforward experience without much fluff. You got what you paid for: a helicopter, a lot of enemies, and very little room for error.
You pilot a small attack helicopter through horizontally scrolling levels, shooting down enemy tanks, planes, and turrets. Your main goal is simply to survive as long as possible while racking up points. Key mechanics include collecting power-up icons to switch between spread shots, lasers, or missiles, and managing a limited supply of screen-clearing bombs for emergencies. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty is relentless; enemy bullets fill the screen, and one hit means losing a life. It feels tense and demanding, but landing a well-timed bomb or finally beating a tough section brings a real sense of relief.
