Game Overview
Lady Sia is one of those GBA games that somehow slipped past a lot of people—which is a shame, because it’s got this great mix of swordplay and shapeshifting chaos. You start off as Sia, this warrior with a serious grudge against the T’Soa empire, and within minutes you’re slashing through enemies with a satisfyingly chunky sword. Then, bam—you transform into this beast and just maul everything in sight. It’s ridiculous in the best way.
The pixel art still holds up, too. Bright colors, smooth animations, and these little details like how Sia’s hair whips around when she jumps. The music’s got this upbeat fantasy vibe that somehow makes even backtracking feel less tedious. And yeah, there’s some of that Metroid-style exploration—hidden paths, abilities that unlock new areas—but it never gets too convoluted.
Honestly, my only gripe is that it’s a bit short. But for a hidden gem from 2001, it’s got way more personality than a lot of games twice its length. If you’ve got a soft spot for action-platformers with a heroine who doesn’t hold back, this one’s a blast.
