Download Leading Lap MPV_Disk1 ROM – Amiga Game
1996 Amiga racing game with 5 drivers, 3 vehicle types, and 12 tracks. Features career mode, AI opponents, and 2-player null modem multiplayer. Offers first-person and third-person camera views.
Leading Lap MPV on the Amiga is one of those early 3D racers that somehow makes blocky polygons feel exciting. You’ve got three camera angles to pick from—first-person feels intense, but I usually stuck with the chase view to actually see my car. Before your first race, you pick a driver (some are speed demons but handle like shopping carts) and a car type. The Formula One option is fast but twitchy, while the rally car grips corners better.
Twelve tracks in total, and you’ll race them in order during the season mode against four AI opponents. The tracks get trickier as you go, with tight turns that’ll punish bad braking. Multiplayer’s there too if you’ve got a null modem cable and a friend willing to lose. It’s not the prettiest racer now, but there’s something satisfying about nailing a perfect lap in those chunky polygonal cars.
