Legend Of Spyro, The - A New Beginning (EU) on GBA is a side-scrolling action game where you play as Spyro, the little purple dragon. The controls feel a bit stiff at first, especially when trying to glide precisely over gaps, but you get used to it after a few levels.
Most of the game is spent running through linear stages, burning enemies with fire breath or charging them. The combat is simple, just button mashing really, but there's something satisfying about roasting groups of enemies in one flame burst. The boss fights are where it gets more interesting, forcing you to dodge and time your attacks.
Visually, it's decent for a GBA game, with Spyro's animations being the highlight. The levels can feel repetitive after a while, though. Legend Of Spyro, The - A New Beginning (EU) isn't groundbreaking, but it's a solid little action platformer if you're a fan of the character.
