LEGO Knights' Kingdom came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, published by LEGO Media. It was part of that wave of handheld games based on LEGO's own themes, not just licensed properties, and it felt like a solid attempt to build a small adventure in that world. You got a straightforward action RPG that knew its limits on the hardware.
You control one of four knights, each with a unique weapon like a sword or a bow, and you explore the kingdom screen by screen, fighting skeletons and orcs. The main goal is to gather the pieces of the Shield of Ages to stop the evil wizard. You break everything you see for studs, the game's currency, and solve simple block-pushing puzzles in dungeons. The combat is basic, just button mashing, and the pacing is slow because the movement feels heavy. It's a simple, grindy game that feels satisfying when you finally afford a new sword or piece of armor.
