Play LEGO Star Wars II : The Original Trilogy Online

LEGO Star Wars II on GBA nails the console feel—smash stuff for studs, swap characters to solve puzzles, and dodge asteroids in surprisingly fun flight missions. Lightsabers are rare, but blasting through Hoth in the Falcon makes up for it.

Game Overview

I picked up LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy on Game Boy Advance back in 2006. Traveller's Tales handled the development, and it was one of those portable games that really tried to capture the feel of its bigger console cousins. It came out during a time when handhelds were pushing what they could do with licensed games, and this one stood out for its ambition.

You control a variety of characters from the original Star Wars films, like Luke, Han, and Leia, moving through levels that retell the movies. The main goal is to progress screen by screen, breaking apart LEGO objects to collect studs, which act as currency. You swap between characters to use their unique abilities, like Force powers or blaster shots, to solve environmental puzzles and access new areas. There are also brief vehicle stages where you pilot the Millennium Falcon or an X-wing, dodging obstacles and firing at TIE fighters. The pacing is generally steady, though some sections can feel a bit cramped on the small screen. It feels satisfying to smash everything in sight and see your stud count climb.
