Play Little Mermaid, The (Europe) Online
Ariel swims fast, hurls seashells at sea creatures, and awkwardly flops around on land—it’s janky but weirdly fun for a Game Boy Disney game. The chiptune soundtrack somehow makes chucking shells at crabs feel epic.

I picked up The Little Mermaid for Game Boy back in 1992, a time when licensed games were hit or miss. Developed by Sculptured Software and published by Capcom, it was one of those portable Disney titles that tried to capture the film's charm on a tiny screen. It didn't have the flash of a console release, but it had its own simple appeal.
You control Ariel through a series of side scrolling underwater and land based stages. Your main goal is to rescue your animal friends from Ursula's minions. You attack by firing bubbles or seashells at enemies; you can also collect power ups to improve your range and damage. The levels are short and straightforward, with some light exploration for hidden items. The difficulty is manageable, though the controls feel a bit stiff when moving on land. Playing it feels like a quick, breezy dive into a familiar story.
