Game Overview
You start with nothing but a grudge—your father’s been killed, and now you’re clawing your way toward becoming Shogun to set things right. The map of 12th-century Japan sprawls in front of you, dotted with enemies (including, awkwardly, your own brother). Move your troops, and sooner or later, someone’s going to pick a fight.
When they do, things get messy. One minute you’re sneaking through a fortress like it’s Gauntlet, the next you’re fending off ninjas in the dark. And if two armies clash? Good luck—you’ll need to outthink the other side, fast. The CD-i version throws in live-action cutscenes with real actors, which are either hilariously dramatic or weirdly cool, depending on your mood.
It’s not just about swinging a sword—you’ve got to be smarter than everyone else on the map.
