Game Overview
This Amiga gem drops you into feudal Japan with one goal: revenge. Your dad’s been killed, and now you’ve got to claw your way to Shogun—even if it means taking down your own brother. Most of the game plays out on a sprawling map of Japan where you move troops like chess pieces, but things get messy fast. One minute you’re planning your next move, the next you’re fending off ninja assassins or storming a fortress Gauntlet-style.
The battles are where it really shines—you’re not just watching armies clash, you’re micro-managing every swing of your soldiers’ swords. Mess up your strategy, and suddenly your samurai are getting picked off by archers. The CD-i version adds some cheesy-but-charming live-action cutscenes and voice acting, which honestly just makes the whole thing feel more dramatic. It’s a weird mix of grand strategy and frantic action, but somehow it works.
