M.U.D.S. is basically what happens if you take a sports game, throw it into a gladiator pit, and let the chaos unfold. You’ve got two teams trying to score goals—or just straight-up murder each other—on a field with a moat full of something that looks suspiciously like a shark. If you fall in, good luck climbing out before it decides you’re lunch.
Scoring seven goals wins the match, but honestly, half the fun is seeing how many opponents you can take out before that happens. Tackles turn into full-on brawls, and if brute force isn’t your style, you can always bribe the ref (or even the weird creature you’re using as a ball). There’s also a slave market for swapping players mid-game, which feels as shady as it sounds.
It’s got a bit of that Speedball vibe with the goal-scoring, but everything else—the violence, the bribes, the random shark—makes it its own ridiculous thing. You’ll either love how over-the-top it is or wonder what the heck you just played. Either way, it’s hard to forget.
