Game Overview

M.U.S.C.L.E. on NES is basically a wrestling game with these weird little pink muscle dudes—like if someone took pro wrestling and ran it through an 80s anime filter. You pick your fighter (there are a ton of them, all with ridiculous names) and jump into this side-scrolling brawl where you can toss opponents out of the ring or just pummel them into submission. The controls are a little stiff, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it all is.

Fun fact: The game was based on those tiny rubber wrestler toys from the mid-80s. If you grew up with those, this is pure nostalgia. If not, it’s still a weirdly entertaining time capsule of wrestling games before they got super polished. Just don’t expect deep strategy—it’s more about button mashing and laughing at the absurdity.
