Game Overview

Majesco's Sports Pack is one of those GBA cartridges that somehow crams in a whole arcade's worth of classic sports chaos. You've got soccer, baseball, racing—basically the essentials for pretending you're an athlete while slumped on the couch. The pixelated players move like wind-up toys, and the baseball bat sounds like someone whacking a tin can, but that's part of the charm. First time I booted it up, I accidentally scored an own goal in soccer because the controls take a minute to click, but by game three I was slide-tackling like a pro (or at least feeling like one).

Don't expect depth—this is pure junk food gaming. The racing feels stiff compared to something like Mario Kart, but there's something weirdly satisfying about how the baseball homeruns send the ball flying into the stratosphere. Perfect for bus rides or when you just need to zone out for 15 minutes. If you miss when sports games were more about silly fun than realism, this little cartridge still holds up.
