Play Majou Densetsu 2 - Daimashikyou Galious (Japan) Online
You creep through a cursed castle with just a sword, backtracking through monster-filled halls when you grab the wrong key—those floating skulls never let up. That floaty jump takes getting used to, but nailing a pit leap while skeletons respawn feels so good.

Game Overview
Man, Majou Densetsu 2: Daimashikyou Galious is one of those NES games that makes you wonder why it never left Japan. You start off in this gloomy castle with nothing but a sword, and within minutes you're lost in twisting corridors, jumping over pits, and getting jumped by floating skulls—classic NES difficulty right there.
What hooked me was how open it feels for an 8-bit game. You can wander into the wrong area way too early and get wrecked by some nightmare bat creature, but that’s part of the fun. The music’s got this eerie, almost Castlevania vibe, and the controls are weirdly smooth once you get used to the hero’s floaty jump.
It’s basically proto-Metroidvania—no handholding, just you figuring out which key goes where while skeletons respawn behind you. Brutal, but in that satisfying way where every new weapon or shortcut feels earned. If you’ve got a thing for forgotten NES deep cuts, this one’s worth digging up (emulator or otherwise).
