Play Maus Die Online
You're a frantic mouse darting through mazes, barely dodging surprise cat ambushes while snatching cheese that keeps disappearing—just when you think you've got the hang of it, three felines trap you as the timer ticks down. That panicked squeak when they catch you still makes you flinch.

Maus Die came out for the Game Boy in 1990, published by the German company Rainbow Arts. It was part of that early wave of handheld games where simple concepts had to carry a lot of weight, built for quick sessions between bus rides or before class.
You control a mouse navigating a series of single-screen mazes, collecting pieces of cheese while avoiding cats that materialize from trapdoors. The main goal is to gather all the cheese before a strict timer runs out, which triggers a swarm of cats that quickly overwhelm you. Key mechanics include memorizing the timing of the cats' appearances and learning the maze layouts to plan efficient escape routes. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes sharply if you hesitate. It feels like a constant, twitchy dance on the edge of failure.
