Play McDonaldland Online
Ronald McDonald bounces through burger-filled levels, flipping switches and dodging the Hamburglar while grabbing fries like coins—it’s janky but weirdly fun for a fast-food platformer.

McDonaldland came out for the Game Boy in 1992, published by Virgin Interactive. It was one of those many licensed platformers that filled out the library, a game you'd find tucked between bigger titles at the rental store. You played as Ronald McDonald, navigating a world built entirely from the company's mascots and menu items.
You control Ronald through a series of side scrolling levels, jumping on platforms made of giant fries and burgers. The main goal is to collect a certain number of Golden Arches in each stage to unlock the exit. You'll be flipping switches to change the stage layout, bouncing on trampolines, and avoiding enemies like the Hamburglar and Birdie. The pacing is methodical, requiring careful jumps and some backtracking once you understand the stage's gimmicks. It feels like a straightforward, slightly clunky platformer that is exactly what you'd expect from a fast food ad turned into a game.
