Mega Man II for the Game Boy came out in 1992, developed and published by Capcom. It was one of the portable entries in the series during a time when bringing full action games to a small screen was still a significant challenge. This version offered a distinct set of levels and Robot Masters separate from its NES counterparts, providing a unique experience for players on the go.
You control Mega Man, running and jumping through tightly designed stages, shooting enemies with your arm cannon. The main goal is to defeat eight Robot Masters, acquire their special weapons, and use those weapons to exploit the weaknesses of other bosses. Signature mechanics include the screen-by-screen progression through enemy-filled corridors and the strategic selection of which boss to tackle first based on the weapon you hope to obtain.
