Menacer 6-Game Cartridge was the pack-in collection for Sega Genesis' weirdest peripheral—the Menacer light gun. It's a mixed bag of six short arcade-style shooters, each with their own quirks. Pest Control has you frantically spraying bugs off a pizza before they devour it whole (those exploding roaches still haunt me). Space Station Defender feels like a rhythm game at times, forcing you to memorize alien pod patterns while dodging return fire.
The standout is Ready, Aim, Tomatoes!—a bizarre Toejam & Earl spinoff where you hurl tomatoes at dentists and boogeymen while scrolling sideways. Whack Ball is basically Breakout with power-ups, and Front Line throws tanks and helicopters at you faster than you can say "reload." Rockman's Zone is the odd one out—a wild west shooting gallery where you lose points for hitting anything that isn't a bandit.
Pro tip: Turn off the Accu-Sight crosshair if you want the real light gun experience, though good luck hitting anything without it. The whole package screams early 90s Sega—janky, colorful, and surprisingly hard. You'll either love it or wonder why you bothered digging out the Menacer in the first place.
