Some demos were cruel, dropping you into the middle of a stage with zero instructions (looking at you, Comix Zone), while others were basically free arcade sessions. The rotation kept things unpredictable—one day you’re slicing robots in Vectorman, the next you’re drowning in Ecco because kid-me never figured out how to breathe underwater properly. Half the fun was arguing with friends about which games were worth begging your parents to buy.

It’s wild to think this was basically proto-Game Pass, just with way more static and way less storage space. If you missed out back then, you missed a weird, wonderful slice of gaming history.
