Game Overview
Metalgun Slinger (J) is one of those GBA platformers that feels like a lost gem. You play as this blue-haired kid with a revolver that packs a punch, running through a weird sci-fi western world full of mutants and robots.
The controls take some getting used toโyou can't shoot diagonally while moving, which feels awkward at first. But sliding into enemies and blasting them mid-air becomes satisfying once you get the rhythm down. The bike sections are a nice break, letting you mow down enemies while your buddy drives.
Boss fights are where it shines, like the mohawk mutant who fills the screen with attacks. The revolver upgrades help, but you still need to learn patterns. Metalgun Slinger (J) isn't perfect, but it's got charm if you like tough, retro-style action.
