Play Motor Massacre Online
Top-down vehicular combat game for Amiga. Features machine guns, oil slicks, and rockets. Includes split-screen multiplayer. Released in 1988.
Motor Massacre came out for the Amiga in 1988, a time when the platform was starting to show what it could really do with fast action and colorful graphics. It was developed by a small team and published by a company that specialized in arcade-style experiences, fitting right in with the era's appetite for quick, competitive games you could jump into with a friend.
You control a small car armed with machine guns, oil slicks, and rockets, driving through maze-like arenas from a top-down perspective. The main goal is to destroy the other vehicles before they get you, either in single-player against AI opponents or in split-screen multiplayer. Signature mechanics include laying oil slicks to send rivals spinning out of control and firing rockets for high-impact kills, all while navigating tight corners and avoiding obstacles. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be punishing if you lose focus even for a moment. It feels chaotic and immediate, like a demolition derby squeezed into a single screen.
