Motor City came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Max Design. It was a straightforward arcade style racer from that era, the kind you’d load up after school when you wanted something fast and loud without a lot of setup. The graphics were pixelated but colorful, capturing a sort of gritty, low-res version of a busy downtown at night.

You control a small sports car, darting through dense traffic on multi-lane highways while trying to outrun police cruisers that aggressively try to sideswipe you into obstacles. The main goal is simply to survive as long as possible, racking up points for distance and near misses. Key mechanics include weaving between semi trucks and vans, using nitro boosts for short bursts of speed, and managing fragile health as your car accumulates damage from collisions. The pacing is relentless; the traffic never lets up, and the police become more persistent the farther you get. It feels like a tense, chaotic dance where one mistimed lane change means starting all over again.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
