Play Mulan on GB Online
Swing Mulan’s sword through pixelated Huns, jump over pits, and dodge arrows while Cri-Kee bounces around like a tiny hype squad. The chunky Game Boy sprites and tinny soundtrack somehow make spear guys dying to you feel oddly satisfying.

I picked up Mulan on Game Boy back in 1998, a time when licensed games were everywhere and you never quite knew what you were getting. THQ published it, and it was one of those side-scrolling action platformers that felt familiar right away, built for quick sessions between bus rides or before bed.
You control Mulan through a series of linear levels, slashing enemies with your sword, jumping across gaps, and occasionally switching to a bow for ranged attacks. The main goal is to fight through each stage, defeat bosses, and ultimately save China. You explore screen by screen, sometimes entering small dungeons or forts, and collect power-ups to restore health or extend your attack range. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during boss fights. It feels straightforward and responsive, a solid little time capsule of late 90s portable action.
