Play Nagano Winter Olympics '98 (E) Online
Pick your event, then hold on—whether it's barely staying upright on the halfpipe or white-knuckling the bobsled turns. The physics feel just unpredictable enough to make every run memorable, especially with friends crashing into barriers beside you.

Game Overview
Nagano Winter Olympics '98 on the N64 is one of those late '90s sports games that somehow nails the chaos of winter events. You start off picking from events like downhill skiing (which feels terrifyingly fast) or snowboarding halfpipe (where landing tricks is way harder than it looks). The bobsled event is my favorite—you actually have to time your leans around turns or you’ll wipe out spectacularly.
Graphics are blocky by today’s standards, but there’s charm in how the skiers tuck into speed positions or how the crowd cheers when you nail a big jump. Multiplayer’s where it really shines though—nothing like racing friends down the slalom course and watching them faceplant into a barrier. It’s janky, a little unpredictable, and totally captures that old-school arcade sports vibe. If you’ve got nostalgia for the era, this one’s a solid time capsule.
