Game Overview

If you've ever wanted a Naruto game that actually feels like an RPG instead of just another fighting spin-off, this GBA hidden gem is it. You start off picking your squad—obviously I went with Naruto first, but Sasuke’s fireball jutsu is stupidly overpowered early on—and then you’re thrown into this weirdly cool original story that doesn’t just rehash the manga. Like, there’s rogue ninja, cursed scrolls, and these turn-based battles where timing your jutsu actually matters.

The pixel art nails Konoha’s vibe—little details like the Hokage’s face on the mountain or the way Naruto’s scarf flutters in battle make it feel alive. And yeah, the combat’s simple at first, but once you start chaining attacks or figuring out which team combos work (hint: Sakura’s healing is a lifesaver), it gets surprisingly tactical. Also, no random encounters—enemies are right there on the map, so you can avoid them if you’re low on health.

It’s not perfect—some of the dialogue drags, and good luck grinding for those rare jutsu scrolls—but for a GBA game, it’s way deeper than it had any right to be. If you still have a soft spot for chunky pixels and old-school RPGs with a ninja twist, this one’s a blast.
