Game Overview
So, Neighbours on the Amiga—yeah, it’s as weirdly specific as it sounds. You’re Scott Robinson from the Aussie soap opera, racing on a skateboard against other characters from the show, like Charlene in a go-kart or Henry on a lawnmower (because why not?). The tracks are all familiar spots if you watched the show—Ramsay Street, the high school, Lassiter’s—but the real stars are the hazards. Kangaroos, Mrs. Mangel, and Bouncer the dog will send you flying if you’re not careful.
You’ve got to weave through gates while dodging all that chaos, and if you hit something, your popularity meter drops (represented by the Neighbours logo fading away—very dramatic). Picking up trash boosts it back up, which feels oddly fitting for a soap opera tie-in. The skateboards handle differently, too—some are faster but slide around corners like they’re on ice. It’s janky, charming, and exactly the kind of licensed oddity you’d expect from the late '80s.
