NHL Hitz 2003 on GBA is a stripped-down but surprisingly fun arcade hockey game. The controls are simple, just pass, shoot, and check, but the speed keeps it engaging. You don't get the full console experience, but the core of what made Hitz fun is still there.
First thing you notice is how fast the gameplay is. No penalties, no offsides, just constant back-and-forth action. The players feel weighty when you check someone, and the goals have that satisfying arcade punch to them. The graphics are basic, but the animations sell the hits well enough.
It's not deep, and the AI can be predictable after a while, but for quick hockey bursts, NHL Hitz 2003 holds up better than you'd expect on the GBA.
