Game Overview

Nightmare Creatures is one of those N64 games that sticks with you—mostly because it’s terrifying in the best way. You’re thrown into 1834 London, where a mad scientist named Adam Crowley has unleashed some seriously messed-up experiments, turning people into twisted monsters. The streets are crawling with them, and you’ve got to fight your way through as either Ignatius, a priest who knows his way around the occult, or Nadia, a biologist who’s way more agile than she looks.

The combat’s all about timing and keeping your adrenaline up—literally. If that meter drops to zero, you’re dead, so you’ve gotta stay aggressive. Ignatius swings heavy and slow, while Nadia’s quicker but weaker. I always liked playing as her just because dodging feels so satisfying when you pull it off. And yeah, you’ll find random items to use against enemies, but sometimes just hacking away with a basic weapon does the trick.

It’s janky in that classic N64 way, but the atmosphere? Unmatched. Dark alleys, flickering lanterns, and monsters that still give me the creeps. If you can handle the clunky controls, it’s a horror-action gem.
