So, Nova 9 picks up right after the Stellar 7 war—Gir Draxon’s still out there, and now there’s a distress call from Nova 9. You’re Captain John Alex, hopping into the Raven II (basically a sci-fi tank with way too many buttons) to figure out what’s going on.
It’s classic first-person tank combat—you’re staring out from the cockpit, scanning for enemies, and blasting anything that moves across nine different planets. The Raven’s got a cloaking device (which I definitely overused at first), plus you can scavenge wreckage for power-ups or call in energy boosts when things get rough. The long-range scanner’s a lifesaver, but don’t rely on it too much—some enemies just pop up out of nowhere.
If you liked Stellar 7, this feels like a natural next step, just with a few more gadgets to play with. The cloaking device alone makes for some sneaky (or panicked) moments.
