Obliterator came out on the Amiga in 1988 from Psygnosis. You played as this bio-engineered warrior named Drak, sent to sabotage a massive alien ship from the inside.
You control Drak through a series of maze-like, multi-screen levels, using a selection of weapons like a rapid-fire gun and grenades to clear out the alien defenders. Your main goal is to find and destroy specific reactor cores in each stage to progress deeper into the vessel. The game requires careful exploration, as you hunt for keys to open doors and avoid environmental hazards while managing your limited ammunition. It moves at a deliberate pace, with a high difficulty that punishes mistakes, and the whole experience feels tense and claustrophobic as you navigate the hostile, metallic corridors.
