Obliterator came out in 1988 from Psygnosis for MS-DOS, a time when games were often about straightforward, high-pressure missions. You play as Drak, a commando sent to destroy a massive alien mothership from the inside, and the whole thing is set against a relentless countdown.
You control Drak through a series of interconnected rooms, using a mix of weapons like a rapid-fire gun and explosives to clear out alien defenders. The main goal is to locate and arm four bombs hidden in the complex, then race to an escape pod before detonation. The pacing is frantic; you are constantly managing ammo, avoiding deadly traps, and backtracking under time pressure. It feels like a desperate, chaotic scramble against the clock where every second matters.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
