Onyanko Town is this weirdly tense NES game where you play as a mother cat searching for her lost kitten. The town's full of hazards—dogs chase you, cars speed by, and open manholes are just waiting to swallow you whole.
At first it feels simple, just wandering the streets, but then you realize how fragile the mom cat is. One wrong jump and you're stuck in a sewer. Steal a fish for temporary invincibility, and suddenly the shopkeeper's chasing you with a knife. The panic sets in when you finally find the kitten—now you're slower, can't jump, and every obstacle feels twice as dangerous on the way home.
It's janky in that classic NES way, but there's something oddly compelling about the struggle. Onyanko Town turns a simple premise into a surprisingly stressful little adventure.
