Onyanko Town came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, published by Pony Canyon. You control a mother cat whose kitten has been snatched away, and your job is to get it back. The game plays out across single-screen stages where you navigate platforms and ladders while avoiding enemy dogs and other obstacles like rolling tires. Your main tools are bones you can pick up and throw to temporarily stun the dogs, creating a safe path forward. The pacing is methodical; you have to watch enemy patterns and time your throws carefully. It feels like a tense, cautious puzzle where one wrong move sends you back to the start.
