Game Overview

Operation Neptune on the Amiga is one of those weirdly charming educational games that somehow makes math feel like an adventure. You're piloting a submarine through underwater caves, dodging mines and collecting treasure—but every now and then, the game throws a math problem at you to unlock doors or disarm traps. It sounds dry, but the mix of exploration and quick calculations actually works.

The pixel art has that early '90s vibe, with chunky coral reefs and fish that look like they were drawn in a hurry. The music? Cheesy synth beats that somehow get stuck in your head. I remember getting stuck on some of the later algebra puzzles as a kid, but the game never felt unfair—just challenging enough to make solving them satisfying.

If you grew up with this era of edutainment games, it’s a nostalgia trip worth diving into.
