Game Overview

Overrun! is one of those Amiga games that makes you feel like a battlefield commander without needing a military manual. You’ve got tanks, infantry, and artillery squads to move around a hex grid, but it’s not just about brute force—flanking actually matters, and terrain can make or break your attack. The first time I played, I sent my tanks charging straight in and got wrecked by hidden anti-tank units. Lesson learned.

The graphics are simple but clean, and the turn-based pacing gives you time to second-guess every decision (which I did, constantly). There’s something satisfying about setting up a perfect ambush or watching your artillery finally zero in on that annoying enemy bunker. If you like tactical games where positioning matters more than reflexes, this one’s a hidden gem.
