Pac-Panic came out for the Game Boy in 1995, developed by Namco. It was a strange little spin-off in an era when handhelds were full of experimental takes on familiar names. You control Pac-Man, but you don't just run from ghosts. You slide rows of blocks left and right to create barriers, trapping the ghosts so you can clear them from the screen. The main goal is to complete each single-screen puzzle by removing all enemies, often under a strict move limit. The mechanics are simple: you push blocks to crush ghosts or enclose them, and you must always be aware of your own escape routes. The pacing is methodical, but the pressure builds quickly; one miscalculation can box you in with no way out. It feels like solving a logic problem while someone is slowly turning up the heat.
