Game Overview
So this is the follow-up to Team Yankee, that tank sim/strategy hybrid that was everywhere on the Amiga back in the day. They kept the split-screen setup—one side for your tactical map, the other for the gritty first-person tank view—but the graphics got a serious upgrade. Everything’s sharper, from the terrain to the explosions, which helps when you’re trying to spot enemy movement in those jungle-covered islands.
Instead of rehashing the book’s storyline, this one cooks up a new Cold War scenario: some Soviet hardliner seizes a chain of Pacific islands (the "Yama Yama Isles," because why not), and it’s your job to take them back across five missions. Still nails that balance between methodical planning and chaotic tank battles—just don’t expect to rush in guns blazing unless you enjoy smoking wrecks.
If you liked the first game’s mix of strategy and simulation, this is more of that, just with prettier pixels and a weirder plot.
