Penny Racers came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Taito. It was part of that wave of quirky, smaller-scale racers that felt right at home on the handheld, offering something a bit different from the more serious circuit racers of the time.
You control a miniature car through obstacle-filled tracks, aiming to finish first while causing as much mayhem as possible. The main objective is to win races, but you spend just as much time launching off ramps, swerving to avoid oncoming traffic, and using an assortment of wild power-ups to sabotage opponents. The pacing is fast and unpredictable; one moment you're narrowly avoiding a truck, the next you're dropping oil slicks or setting off explosives. It feels like controlled chaos, where every race is a messy, enjoyable scramble to the finish line.
