Pepenga Pengo came out for the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed and published by Sega. It was one of those quirky puzzle action games that showed up in the later years of the console, offering something a little different from the platformers and shooters that dominated the era.
You control a small penguin named Pengo, sliding around grid based stages and pushing ice blocks to crush enemy sno bees. The main goal is to clear each screen of foes while avoiding contact; you can also stun them by sliding into certain blocks or lining up three special diamonds. The pace is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as enemies multiply and the arena gets more cluttered. It feels frantic but satisfying when you pull off a clean combo and clear the room.
