Play PepsiMan (Metro-Cross Hack) Online
Guide PepsiMan through obstacles in this quirky, fast-paced promotional platformer.
PepsiMan for the NES came out in 1999, a hack of the older game Metro-Cross. It was a promotional title, one of those oddball games that showed up late in the console's life. You don't see many official releases like it from that time, games built entirely around a brand.
You control PepsiMan, a runner who dashes automatically through side-scrolling urban courses. Your main goal is to reach the end of each stage, avoiding obstacles like potholes, road cones, and rolling barrels. You collect cans of Pepsi to keep your energy up and can perform a shoulder charge to break through certain barriers. The game is relentlessly fast and quite difficult, demanding quick reflexes to dodge and jump. It feels like a frantic, slightly janky sprint where one mistimed move sends you back to the start.
