Perfect Dark on the N64 was way ahead of its time—it’s basically GoldenEye’s cooler, slightly weirder sibling. You play as Joanna Dark, a secret agent thrown into this conspiracy with aliens, corporate espionage, and some seriously smart AI enemies that actually flank you instead of just standing there. The guns are ridiculous in the best way: laptop guns that turn into turrets, a rifle that shoots through walls, and this alien weapon that basically microwaves people.
First mission drops you into a dark corporate office, sneaking around or going in guns blazing—your call. The music’s all synth and tension, and the guards actually react if you leave bodies lying around. It’s janky by today’s standards (hello, N64 framerate), but the sheer creativity holds up. Just don’t expect the Japanese version to fix the slowdown.
