Play Pocket Rockets Amiga Online
1989 Amiga motorcycle racing game. Features four bikes: Suzuki Katana, Kawasaki Ninja, Yamaha FZR, Honda Hurricane. Includes drag racing challenges and championship mode.
Pocket Rockets came out on the Amiga in 1989 from Riggs International. It was a motorcycle racing game that let you pick from four real sportbikes: the Suzuki Katana, Kawasaki Ninja, Yamaha FZR, and Honda Hurricane. This put it right alongside other arcade-style racers of the era, offering a straightforward take on speed and competition without a lot of frills.
You control one of the bikes, racing against either the computer or a friend in split-screen. The main goal is to win races across different modes, including a championship series and head-to-head drag challenges. The gameplay is built on quick reflexes; you manage your acceleration out of the gate, lean into turns to avoid wiping out, and try to draft opponents to slingshot past them. The difficulty is pretty unforgiving, especially in tighter corners where a mistake costs you dearly. It feels fast and a little twitchy, like you're constantly wrestling for control on the edge of traction.
