Pocket Rockets was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't come from a major studio. It was one of those shareware racers that felt right at home on a 386, a game you'd find on a floppy disk tucked inside a magazine. The graphics were simple, blocky, and relied on your imagination as much as your monitor.
You control a small, agile rocket car, weaving through tight, obstacle-filled tracks that often loop and twist in impossible ways. The main goal is just to finish each course without crashing too many times. Key mechanics include a turbo boost for sudden bursts of speed and very unforgiving physics that send you spinning if you clip a wall. The difficulty is relentless; one mistake often means starting the lap over. It feels like trying to thread a needle while riding a firecracker.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
