Police Quest III: The Kindred is one of those classic Sierra adventure games where you play as detective Sonny Bonds—except this time, you're off the streets and into the seedy underbelly of a drug cartel. The Amiga version has that chunky pixel art and synth soundtrack that just screams late '80s.
You start off investigating a routine drug bust, but before long, you're knee-deep in undercover work, dodging crooked cops and trying not to get shot. The interface is pure point-and-click—type commands, pick up clues, and try not to die in hilariously unfair ways (because Sierra loved their instant deaths). The dialogue’s cheesy, the puzzles are occasionally ridiculous, but it’s got that weird charm where you keep reloading saves just to see what happens next.
If you’ve got nostalgia for pixelated crime dramas, this one’s a time capsule.
